What Insperity costs — and how to know if it’s the right PEO for you

Insperity is one of the largest PEOs in the country and one of the most service-heavy. It does not publish prices. Here is what is public, what is estimated, and the questions that decide whether its premium is worth paying for your company.

Short version: Insperity is priced per employee per month on a custom quote; third-party guides put the range at roughly $150–$210 PEPM, toward the top of the market. See how it compares →

How Insperity prices

Insperity quotes a per-employee-per-month fee based on headcount, payroll, states, workers’ comp exposure, and the benefits contribution you choose. It does not publish standard pricing. Two independent guides (OutSail, May 2026; Software Finder, updated Nov 2026) both place the typical fee at $150–$210 per employee per month and both say that figure is a benchmark estimate, not an Insperity number. Treat it as a planning range; your quote will be specific to you.

HRCore

Payroll, HCM platform, benefits administration tools — without co-employment. Closer to an ASO than a PEO.

HR360 (the PEO)

Co-employment: Insperity sponsors the benefits plans, adds employment practices liability coverage, HR strategy consulting, and on-site HR support. This is the tier most people mean by “Insperity.”

HRScale

HR360 on the Workday HCM platform, aimed at larger or more complex employers.

What’s typically extra

Applicant tracking and recruiting, retirement-plan services, certain insurance lines, contractor management, and one-time implementation — the guides note these carry separate fees that aren’t always disclosed up front.

Who Insperity tends to fit

  • Employers who want hands-on HR — on-site support, instructor-led training, a named team — and will pay for it
  • Companies competing for professional talent where big-company benefits are the recruiting tool
  • Multi-state employers who want one platform and one HR partner across states
  • Less likely to fit: price-sensitive employers with simple payroll, very small groups, or high-risk field workforces where workers’ comp pricing drives the decision

Fit is our read from pricing structure and public positioning, not a review of Insperity’s service. Your industry, mod, and states can change it.

Ask these before you sign with Insperity — or anyone

  • Is the fee flat per employee or a percentage of payroll — and what happens to it when you give raises or add overtime?
  • What is the fee on employees 1–10 versus 50+? Most PEOs step the rate down with headcount; ask for the schedule.
  • What is the renewal cap? If the contract doesn’t limit year-two increases, assume there isn’t one.
  • Is workers’ comp on a master policy, and what class codes did they assume for your crews?
  • What are the exit terms — notice period, who owns the benefits plan year, and what it costs to leave mid-year?
  • What is billed outside the fee: implementation, state registrations, background checks, 401(k) administration?

How we price Insperity against the market

We request the Insperity quote and two to four alternatives on the same census, the same comp assumptions, and the same benefits contribution, then line them up: admin fee, benefits premiums, comp, and what’s billed outside the fee. Sometimes Insperity wins on service and loses on price; sometimes the opposite. What a PEO costs, in general →

Insperity is a trademark of its owner. My PEO Pros is an independent broker and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Insperity. Pricing facts are from Insperity’s public website or clearly labeled third-party estimates as of November 2026; your quote is the only number that counts.

Insperity is excellent at what it does, and it charges for it. The only way to know if the premium is worth it for your company is to see the number next to two others.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Does Insperity publish its PEO pricing?

No. Insperity quotes per employee per month based on your company. The $150–$210 PEPM range you see online is a third-party estimate, not an Insperity price.

Is Insperity more expensive than other PEOs?

On the administrative fee, usually yes, by the public estimates. Whether the total cost is higher depends on benefits and workers’ comp pricing, which is where most of the money is. That is why we compare total cost, not fee.

Does using a broker make Insperity cost more?

No. The PEO pays the broker fee out of a budget it already carries, and the fee is the same whichever PEO you choose. You get the same Insperity quote — plus alternatives on identical assumptions.

Can you get me an Insperity quote?

Yes, and we run it next to the alternatives so you can see where it wins and where it doesn’t. Bring your census and current invoices; the comparison is free.
